If you are fond of butterflies and you are in Dubai, then you should not miss a visit to the Dubai Butterfly Garden! Don’t confuse the Butterfly Garden with the Dubai Miracle Garden, where you see exotic flowers and plants and which is located to the Butterfly Garden. The Butterfly Garden is completely covered, and therefore can remain open even in the hot summer months which is not an option for the Dubai Miracle Garden. In the Butterfly Garden, the first butterfly garden in the Middle East, you will also find a variety of exotic flowers and plants in addition to various types of beautiful butterflies.

Walking around 15,000 butterflies

The Dubai Butterfly gardens consist of nine domes that are connected to each other. Within these domes you can see more than 15,000 butterflies flying around and walk in between them. Every dome has been adjusted in terms of temperature and humidity in such a way that the butterfly species that live there can live optimally. You will find as many as 32 different types of butterflies from countries all over the world in the Butterfly Gardens.

Nature and culture come together in the Butterfly Gardens

In the Butterfly Gardens you enjoy more than beautiful butterflies and beautiful scenery, because there is a gallery full of paintings and other artworks that all have to do with butterflies in one way or another. The most impressive work of art in this gallery is a portrait of the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which consists entirely of numerous butterflies in different colors.

What can you expect inside the Butterfly Gardens

When you exit the art gallery you have to step through special curtains, which are designed to ensure that the butterflies do not escape. At the other side of the curtains you imagine yourself in an enchanting fairytale world full of exotic flowers, green plants and of course many butterflies in all colors of the rainbow. Due to the large amount of windows in the domes, there is naturally light coming in. The temperature is kept at a pleasant 24 degrees and you are allowed to touch the butterflies. There are special employees who give you instructions so that you do not accidentally hurt the butterflies. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

The Dubai Butterfly garden is located in Dubailand and there is no metro station nearby, but you can take the metro to the Mall of the Emirates station and bus 105 from there..

Q Is there a parking close to Butterfly Garden?

On Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road Centre Road take exit 30 to Umm Suqeim and follow the signs to Miracle Garden, where you can park your car for free.
