When you think of a shopping mall, you might think of a handful of clothing shops alternated with perhaps a snack bar or a supermarket. In that case you have probably never been to The Dubai Mall! This impressive shopping center may call itself the largest shopping center in the world. It is not surprising that this record building is located in Dubai, a city of extremes. The Dubai Mall is part of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. Within this shopping center there is space for more than 1200 stores and you won’t succeed to visit them all in one afternoon. There is so much to see and do in this wonderful place!
If you are crazy about shopping you can indulge yourself in The Dubai Mall. Spread over four floors there are shops as far as you can see. Especially if you are looking for the big international brands, this is where you want to be. The shopping center is divided into different areas. If you are looking for a new outfit, pay a visit to Fashion Avenue. Here you will find all your favorite brands. Think of designer brands like Dior, Dolce & Gabanna, Versace, Armani, Hugo Boss and G-Star Raw, just to name a few. Addicted to shoes? In The Dubai Mall you will find the largest shoe store in the world. Make sure you have room in your suitcase!
The Dubai Mall offers much more than fashion stores: you will find numerous other types of shops and boutiques. On the ground floor of the mall you will find the so-called ‘Gold Souk’. Here you will find more then two hundred jewelers, offering jewels, gold and jewelry. In addition, you will also find many shops in Dubai Mall that sell items such as toys, electronics, accessories, home furnishings, books, delicacies and souvenirs. There is something for everyone here.
You can shop until you drop in the Dubai Mall, but that is by no means the only thing you can entertain in this gigantic shopping center. Think of the many restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy lunch or dinner with a view of the Dubai fountains show, the largest fountain show in the world. Or how about skating on an ice rink? Or you can fully indulge in a large indoor amusement park? Looking out at your eyes and visiting the largest aquarium in the world, the Dubai Aquarium? Or would you rather relax with one of the latest films in a mega cinema with no fewer than twenty-two screens? All these things and more are all possible in the miraculous Dubai Mall. One thing is certain: you will not get bored here!
When taking the Dubai metro you need to get off at the Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall station. From there you need to take the airconditioned Metro Link bridge, which is about a ten minutes walk to the Dubai Mall. Alternatively you can take bus 27 from the Deira Gold Souk station or bus 29 from the Ghubaiba bus station. The buses stop in front of the Grand Drive Entrance, Lower Ground Floor of the Dubai Mall.
Take the Financial Centre Road exit and park your car in the huge car park under the Dubai Mall.
