Did you dream of racing in the Formula 1 as a kid or did you collect everything of the famous Ferrari brand? In that you must visit the exciting indoor theme park Ferrari World, which is located just outside of Abu Dhabi, about an hour and a half away from the center of Dubai. As the name suggests, this park is completely themed by the most famous Italian sports car brand in the world: Ferrari.
Although Ferrari World is an indoor theme park, it is certainly not a small theme park, because Ferrari World covers 86 thousand square meters, equal to twelve football fields. This makes Ferrari World one of the largest indoor theme parks in the world. With the gigantic bright red roof with Ferrari logo of 65 by 48 meters, the park is hard to miss. Ferrari World opened its doors in 2010 and the location was deliberately chosen close to the artificial island of Yas Marina, because this is where the Formula 1 takes place every year for the Abu Dhabi round.
Both kids and adults will entertain themselves for hours in Ferrari World. You can found many exciting roller coasters in the park, all entirely in Ferrari theme. The most famous roller coaster of Ferrari World is the Formula Rossa. This is the fastest launching roller coaster in the world. It achieves a speed of up to 240 kilometers per hour within four seconds and has a height of 52 meters. Because of the high G-forces that you experience, you get free glasses on during a ride in the Formula Rossa. In addition, there are many other roller coasters for the real thrill seekers in Ferrari world.
Besides the exciting Formula Rossa, there are many other exciting attractions to be found in Ferrari World. Kids can gain their first race experience in the Junior Grand Prix, where they receive instructions in perfectly scaled Ferrari go-karts, after which they enter into the race. Adults also get a chance to get behind the wheel in Bell’Italia where you will be transported along beautiful Italian landscapes in a smaller version of a real Ferrari. Do you want to ride a Ferrari in real life? That is also possible! For an additional fee you can rent a real Ferrari. After receiving the instructions you are free to drive across the island in the fast sports car.
After a long day enjoying all rides in Ferrari World, you can relax in one of the restaurants and caf s that Ferrari World offers. The theme park also borders the Yas Mall, with more than 350 stores the largest shopping center in Abu Dhabi. When you are not tired yet you can go visit this mall for shopping or for having something to eat. At Ferrari World itself you can also go for shopping and buy some cool Ferrari merchandise.
