In the old part of Dubai, the built of the Dubai Creek Tower is currently in progress and is planned to complete in 2021. The Dubai Creek Tower will change Dubai’s skyline forever, as it will be the tallest lookout tower and the tallest building in the world. With a planned height of 1300 meters, the Dubai Creek Tower will be even taller than the Burj Khalifa. You will be able to visit the Dubai Creek Tower, because there will be several observation platforms on the top.
The Dubai Creek Tower has a very slender design and is reminiscent of a minaret, as seen on mosques. The Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava based the design on a lily. What is particularly striking is that the Dubai Creek Tower is supported by cables that run from the tower to anchors on the ground. The cables provide a unique design, but also stability of the tower and are inspired by the ribbing of lily leaves. In the evening, the Dubai Creek Tower will be a beacon of light.
At the top of the slender tower you will find an oval-shaped bud that is reminiscent of the bud of a lily and whose diameter is much larger than the stem. There will be approximately 10 floors with observation decks in the bud. One of the observation decks will be called the Pinnacle Room, from where you have a 360 degree view of Dubai.
The exact opening date of the Dubai Creek tower is not yet known but it is expected that the tower will open in 2021.
